CREATIVITY, COMMUNITY & CONFIDENCE
A Community-Centered Studio and Gallery in Tarpon Springs
White Lion Art Studio & Gallery is owned and led by Kim Michelle, whose personal dedication to building creative confidence shapes everything that happens inside these walls. Located at the center of downtown Tarpon Springs, Florida, the studio serves as a true community art space where children, adults, and families come together around a shared love of making things. The studio evolved from BrushTips Art Studio into the White Lion era with a clear purpose: to be a professional, welcoming, and inclusive space that takes art seriously without ever making guests feel like they do not belong. The bright, hands-on environment keeps the focus on joy, process, and the satisfaction of finishing something you made with your own hands.

The Gallery Experience
From the Easel to the Exhibition Wall
White Lion is more than a classroom. The "Gallery" in our name reflects a genuine commitment to treating student and member work with the respect it deserves. Young artists in our programs have the opportunity to curate and exhibit their work during gallery events, including the Summer Art Camp's culminating Kids Art Show in Week 7. Adult members enrolled in the Flow State Membership can also display and sell their work in the gallery space, making this one of the few community art studios in Tarpon Springs, FL where the path from beginner to exhibiting artist is a real and supported journey.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions About White Lion Art Studio & Gallery
Do I need any art experience to join a class or workshop at White Lion?
No experience is needed for any class or workshop at White Lion Art Studio & Gallery. The studio is specifically designed to welcome people who believe they cannot paint or draw. Nurturing instructors guide every session step by step, and the entire environment is built to be low-pressure and beginner-friendly. Every guest, regardless of skill level, leaves with a finished piece they are proud of. Whether you are picking up a brush for the very first time or returning to art after years away, you will feel right at home here in Tarpon Springs. What is Open Create and how does it differ from a guided class?
Open Create is the studio's self-led session option, available for walk-ins when instructed classes are not scheduled. Unlike guided classes where an instructor leads the group through a specific project, Open Create gives you free time in the studio to work on your own projects at your own pace. You bring your own materials and use the space however your creativity takes you. It is a great fit for artists who already have a project in mind and just want a dedicated, inspiring place to work. Instructed classes, by contrast, require a paid reservation made in advance. Can guests bring alcohol to a Paint-N-Sip event?
Yes. White Lion Art Studio & Gallery allows guests to bring their own beer, wine, or champagne to Paint-N-Sip events and other appropriate sessions. Guests must be 21 years of age or older to consume alcohol at the studio. The studio does not sell alcoholic beverages, so bringing your own is the standard practice. Snacks can also be brought by guests. This BYOB approach keeps the social events relaxed and flexible while making sure everyone stays within the studio's guidelines. How do I book a private art party, and what is the minimum group size?
Private art parties at White Lion require a minimum of 10 guests, and a two-seat non-refundable deposit is required to hold your date. Party options include Paint and Create experiences as well as specialty creative experiences like mosaics and candle pouring. The studio can also travel to your location for off-site parties, with a travel fee that applies for locations more than 10 miles from the studio. The same 10-person minimum applies to off-site events. What is the difference between the Kids Art Club and the Young Artists Academy?
The White Lion Kids Art Club serves children ages 5 to 13 and is centered on a weekly creative routine through 6-week membership terms. It is ideal for kids who want a consistent, fun art habit. The Young Artists Academy is designed for ages 7 to 13 and takes a more structured, skill-focused approach. Academy students work through 6-week courses that cover real artistic concepts, participate in creative challenges, and have the opportunity to exhibit their work in gallery events. Both programs include priority registration for members. What specialty workshops does White Lion offer beyond standard painting?
White Lion Art Studio & Gallery offers a wide variety of specialty adult workshops that go well beyond canvas painting. Current options include resin art, mosaics, shell decoupage, candle pouring, wood signs, and welcome mats. Premium experiences such as resin wine glasses and resin serving boards are also available. No experience is required for any of these workshops. Every session is guided from start to finish, making them accessible to complete beginners while still being engaging and satisfying for guests who have tried art before. What is the Summer Art Camp schedule, and what age group is it for?
The Summer Art Camp at White Lion runs weekly from June through July for children ages 6 to 12. Each of the seven weeks focuses on a different artistic theme: Week 1 covers color, Week 2 focuses on shapes and lines, Week 3 explores perspective, Week 4 is about texture, Week 5 covers color contrast, Week 6 focuses on expression, and Week 7 is a Kids Art Show where students curate and celebrate their own work. Enrollment options include a full camp pass, a 3-day option, or a daily drop-in. A Winter Break Art Camp is also offered seasonally. What should I know before arriving for my first class at the studio?
All instructed classes require a paid reservation made in advance, so walk-ins are only accepted for Open Create sessions. Plan to arrive 5 to 10 minutes before your class starts so you have time to get settled. Art is a hands-on process, so while aprons are provided, it is a good idea to wear clothing you would not mind getting paint on. Paid reservations are processed at the time of booking to confirm your spot in the class.
